FIVE-POINT BUILDER

1) 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV): "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." — This verse declares our fundamental transformation in Christ.

2) Romans 6:4 (KJV): "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead... even so we also should walk in newness of life." — Walking reflects living in the power of Christ’s resurrection.

3) Galatians 2:20 (KJV): "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me...." — Our old self is crucified and Christ’s life animates us.

4) Ephesians 4:22-24 (KJV): "...put off concerning the former conversation the old man... and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man... after God, created in righteousness and true holiness." — The daily practice of renewal and holiness.

5) Colossians 3:9-10 (KJV): "Lie not one to another... and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him." — Our new life is formed in God’s likeness and truth.

WORD STUDY

Kainos (καινός) — Greek word meaning "new" in quality or nature, not merely new in time or appearance. It signifies a radical renewal and transformation by Christ’s power, emphasizing the true change that believers undergo, beyond mere external modification.

INSIGHT

To walk as a new creation in Christ means you live from an identity utterly changed by union with Him. According to the Apostles’ Creed, we believe in Jesus’ death and resurrection, which secures our new life. This newness is not self-generated but granted through the Holy Spirit, enabling us to move beyond our former nature enslaved to sin. The transformation impacts every area—mind, will, actions—reflecting the holiness and righteousness given to us. It is a continuing experience that manifests in love, obedience, and spiritual fruitfulness. This walk honors the God who made us anew, awaiting the final restoration at Christ’s return.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

- Daily remind yourself of your new identity by reading 2 Corinthians 5:17 and confessing it aloud.

- Practice repentance and faith regularly, turning from old patterns and embracing God’s ways.

- Cultivate habits that reflect the new man: prayer, Scripture reading, and acts of love.

- Participate actively in your local church community where you can grow and serve.

- Reflect each evening on your walk with Christ and ask the Spirit for guidance and strength.

CLOSING PRAYER

Lord Jesus, thank You for making me a new creation by Your death and resurrection. Renew my heart and mind daily so that my life reflects Your holiness and love. Empower me by Your Spirit to walk worthy of this new identity You have given me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
